FIND YOUR GLIMMER
A BLACK LIGHT ART INSTALLATION BY CANDY CARVER
Find Your Glimmer is a multi media, black light activated, art installation that I began creating in 2021. I utilize multiple surfaces and mediums to convey light filled messages and emotions with many moments of joy. It envelops the viewer in a warm hug of affirmations and is a reminder that art can be fun and meaningful at the same time. Learn about how it all began here .
Most recently, this installation was executed in Downtown Raleigh at Artspace Gallery. Click here to view Since then, a short run was executed with The Alcohol and Drug Council of North Carolina about breaking the sigma in the recovery community, entitled “Always Forward.”
Find Your Glimmer has created space for community creatives of other mediums to execute their skills and talents. For example, screen printers have come into the space and shared their skillset with patrons. Musicians have performed and created music videos inside of the immersive space as well. Game communities such as chess continuously played during the installation.
Partnerships with local business owners to host vinyl popup nights, live musical performances and a neon fashion dance party continue to fulfil the installation’s purpose of emotional upliftment and connection.
